Aloo Badi Ki Sabzi – Healthy Breakfast for your day

Most of the mamas always will search healthy breakfast ideas. Isn’t it? Preparing a daily similar food is like the hell. I always try to make snacks and dessert recipe for my kids. Don’t worry here you will get the best breakfast ideas. Well today I am going to share Aloo Badi Recipe, which is very traditional recipe.
This recipe is very easy to make but takes some time to make badi. Once you made that Badi then you can preserve for a long period. Badi can be made with Urad daal, moong daal etc. Here I have used urad dal to make Badi. Urad daal are soaked for 3 hours (or for overnight), using hing, ginger and garlic paste, salt and red chili powder you can make Badi. That batter is dried in the sun and you can preserve it with air tight container and whenever required you can use these preserved Badi.
I have made many more recipes from Aloo. In that my favorite recipe is Aloo Bonda and Aloo pokoda. Now let us know how to make badi step by step.

How to make Badi:

Ingredients:

  • Urad daal(black gram) – 2 cups
  • Hing (asafoeteda) – little
  • Garlic-ginger paste – 2 table spoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Chili powder – 2 table spoon

Making Process:

  • Soak urad daal for overnight.
  • Put that soaked black grams in blender.
  • Add little hing, garlic ginger paste, Salt and chili powder.
  • Grind it, you will get thick batter.
  • Next take small small amount of batter and drop in a clean plastic sheet one by one.
  • Let it dry in hot sun for 1-2 days.
  • Now Badi is ready, preserve that with air tight container.

Ingredients:

  • Potato – 6
  • Tomato chopped – 3
  • Onion chopped – 2
  • Garlic ginger paste – 1 table spoon
  • Mustard seeds – 1 table spoon
  • Curry leaves – 12 leaves
  • Chili powder – 2 table spoon
  • Garam masala powder – 1/2 table spoon
  • Coriander powder – 1 table spoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Badis as required (1-2 cup)
  • Red chili (for seasoning)
  • Oil as required
  • Yogurt (optional)

Cooking Method:

  • First boil potatoes and keep aside.
  • Take a cooker and heat that cooker and pour oil, add mustard seeds, 2red chili let that mustard seeds starts spluttering then add chopped onions and garlic ginger paste.
  • Let that onion boil for 2 minute, I mean it must get light brownish color.
  • Then add chopped tomatoes. Let it get fry for a minute.
  • Add salt, garam masala powder, chili powder and coriander powder mix it well.
  • Add 1 cup Badis and mix it, let it fry for a minute.
  • Next add water like u must get gravy type liquid.
  • Let that cooker get 1 whistle at that time Badis will be getting cooked. Open the lid and keep it in low flame.
  • Next mash that boiled potatoes in a bowl.
  • Add that mashed potatoes in that gravy mix it well. Let it boil for 2 minutes. Switch off the gas.
  • Now hot Aloo Badi Ki Sabzi is ready to serve.

Garnish this recipe with coriander leaves and serve hot with Paratha. This is the best combination with phulka or chapathi.Once you make more number of Badis then you can use this in rainy season also.
